TRS appoint Avian to launch new phone recycling company
Total Repair Solutions (TRS) the UK's leading mobile phone repair and post sales service specialist has commissioned Avian to create an integrated marketing programme for the launch of a new consumer facing company focussing on recycling mobile handsets.
Avian will be involved in brand creation for the new company and retained to develop a series of tactical marketing initiatives from point of sale to advertising and web offering.
Mike Mason the TRS Business Development Director said "There are 15 million phones unused in the UK every year, and 5,720 tonnes of toxic chemicals are going to land fills every year. We believe TRS can offer a green solution within a commercial context."
TRS intend to transfer their infrastructure and expertise to the consumer sector and offer a simple, motivating solution to recycling mobile phones. They are also then able to fulfil a social need in developing countries where mobile phone handset costs are preventing many from using the technology.
Mason went on "We challenged a number of agencies to come up with an integrated solution and Avian were clear winners with their creative offering, their understanding of the objectives and their enthusiasm for the project".
The brand will be piloted in TRS's sister company T4Telecom in Holland and the initial research is highly encouraging.
Scott McCallum, Avian Client Services Director, said, "We are delighted to be appointed to work on this exciting and challenging new project and look forward to launching the brand in the UK shortly."
